About
KnowWho has been helping government relations, lobbying firms, advocacy groups, library patrons, and the government itself, connect with elected officials and their staffs for more than 15 years. Our primary goal has always been to compile and maintain the most complete and up-to-date database of contact, staff, and biographical data available from a single, affordable source.
In addition to offering high quality data, it is important our customers are able to use this valuable content in the format of their choice. Our product offerings have expanded over the years from basic web directories to more robust platforms such as Salesforce and Dynamics CRM. These platforms allow us to go beyond contact information to provide customers with all-in-one solutions. Thus the addition of apps such as Action Center Toolkit, Lobbying Activity Tracker, ZIP Code to District Matching, and MapWizard.
We also offer a complete line of data and web services tools for our developers, advocacy website administrators, and those who have built proprietary databases. Everything you need to contact and track your communications with elected officials and their staffs is right here at KnowWho.
How It All Started
While KnowWho has been in business for about 15 years, our founders, executives, and editor’s experience in this market spans more than 40 years. The man who started it all, our president and founder, Bruce Brownson is the son of a Congressman, who spent his youth playing on the loading dock of Longworth House Office Building. Upon retirement from public service, Bruce’s father published the first Congressional Staff Directory in 1959. Bruce would go on to run the company in later years. He then sold the print business to CQ, and moved into digital product development with KnowWho with his partner Tom Dougherty. His passion continues today as he looks for new and creative ways to serve his customers.
